To Whom it may concern...
In the past couple of weeks there's been word floating around of Delphi possibly shutting down their Forums for good for some time in the early part of 2003. Unfortunately, ever since Delphi Forums started charging a fee for use of it's Forums their membership numbers have decreased dramatically.
Delphi Forums staff have done an excellent job for 20 years of managing and looking after all of your Forums However once the Powers-that-Be decide to close the doors at Delphi there will be nothing that the staff of Delphi Forums can do to put a stop to this. The important thing here is don't get caught off guard one day when Delphi Forums is no more and that day is coming sooner than you think. Be prepared.
A friend

P.S. There has been a last ditch effort to try and save Delphi Forums the last couple of days, the important thing to note here is nothing is concrete and etched in stone. Many other communities have struggled and/or shut down across the Internet and UNFORTUNATELY, Delphi Forums looks to be headed in this direction as well. Be prepared and backup anything that you have saved inside your Delphi Forums that you don't want to lose. When the times comes for Delphi to shut down like all of the other Forums throughout the Net have done already don't go scratching your heads afterwards and ask yourself; "HOW COME NOBODY TOLD ME THAT DELPHI FORUMS WAS GOING TO SHUT DOWN?"

Forums are in fact disapearing, three that i participated in have disapeared in the past six months not at delphi but at other sites like Newsmax and others. The idea of a forum is that people get to speak their mind on the issues and for the most part its annonymous. The letters to the editor section of most newpapers will not print a letter unless they know everything about you, name, address, phone number ect, ect.I always beleived it was because if you said something that the right people didnt like they would know where to find you, paranoid?maybe, maybe not.I find it difficult to beleive they need all of that information just to print your opinion. The internet has come to represent alot of freedom and independent thinking and you know how"they"feel about that.

Hi Strings,

Welcome to the Forum.

Thanks for your good insight!

I agree we all need to appreciate what we have and enjoy it while we have it.

The internet is changing so rapidly most wonder what it will be like in five years and few think anything on it or about it will be free or untaxed.

I saw a statistic that in 5 years the internet has the audience that took television 50 years to gather, there is no denying the vast audience of the internet.

God Bless you,
Your Brother in Jesus,
David
